Summer romance

The cobblestone balcony was just the finishing touch to this exquisite view. I was lost in thought, debating whether I was the right one for him. The smell of dew on the early morning grass cleared my thoughts slightly. The sun pierced through the clouds and kissed my curly brown hair with warmth. It felt like this moment was meant to be.

His eyes — the deep brown depths — had me reminiscing about the last autumn we’d spent together. If only he knew how much I liked him. The bluebirds tweeting in the background sang a melody so sweet, it felt like we were living a scene from a romantic film.

There he was, walking swiftly along the flower-strewn path. It was as if the petals knew he was coming and began to make way for him. The morning dew clung to his black Clarks, perfectly matched with his buttoned suit. I knew I had to make a decision.

Slowly but steadily, I made my way down the balcony’s spiralling staircase. It was lined with the most beautiful flowers, their soft scent drifting around me, wrapping me in a sense of calm and hope.

As I reached the end of the staircase, I saw him. He was there — and in that moment, it felt like my heart skipped a thousand beats.
